• I tested LG LMV2031ST. The vent fen speed is reduced from high to low when microwave is turned on. It will be back to high when the microwave is turned off. That means whenever you use microwave, the vent fan is less effective.

• LMHM2237 the 4-speed fan will auto reduce from "Turbo" (highest setting) to "High" (level 3 setting) while microwave is running. It will automatically go back to the highest speed ("Turbo") when the microwave is done cooking. LG's answer above is completely incorrect.

• Fan died after 4 months. The magnetron died after 2 months and was repaired on-site. That took 3 LG visits. Not impressed.
