Hi there! Thank you for sharing your experience with the MVEL2033F. We understand how concerning it can be when appliances malfunction, especially with issues that resemble electrical shorts. Steam from boiling water can sometimes enter the microwave if the venting system isn’t functioning properly or if there’s excessive steam buildup in the kitchen. When the microwave's vent is set to high, it can cause air to be drawn from the kitchen, potentially bringing moisture with it. This moisture can lead to temporary issues with the microwave, including performance interruptions. As a troubleshooting step, please ensure that the microwave is properly ventilated and that the air intake and exhaust are not blocked. If the issue persists, it may be beneficial to disconnect the microwave for a few minutes and then reconnect it. If you continue to experience problems, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport so our team can assist you further. We appreciate your patience! —Avril
