You can control some functions of this unit by your TV remote control even by other company’s product. Controllable functions are volume up/down and mute. Press and hold SOUND EFFECT on the remote control for about 3 seconds. “ON - TV REMOTE” appears and you can control this unit by your TV remote control. To check the status of this function, press and hold SOUND EFFECT on the remote control. To turn off this function, press and hold SOUND EFFECT on the remote control and press it once again while “ON - TV REMOTE” is scrolled. ^CP
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Does not have ARC (HDMI) capability. If connected by optical cable, you can't use the TV remote. If connected by Bluetooth, you can control the volume/mute, and it will power off when you turn off the tv, but you will need to use the soundbar remote to turn the soundbar back on every time you turn on the tv. Would recommend getting one with ARC/HDMI input.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't have the model # handy, but I have a 55" LG Ultra HD/4K smart TV purchased at Walmart 4 or 5 years ago. As soon as I hooked it up (optically) & went through the pairing process, I found I could control the volume with my original remote. I don't have to use the soundbar remote at all unless I want to change the bass level or other EQ settings.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I had a 5 year old LG 43" TV and bought this sound bar several years later and so long as you are in the LG family the TV will recognize it and volume control will work with the one TV remote or any remote that normally controls the TVs volume. Depending on the year/model of your TV there might be an audio setting you will need to configure so the volume is adjustable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does not work with an Optimum Samsung cable box remote. Returned it.
