• bar needs power as well as sub. Both have their own amp built in. I love mine.

• The [2] for the LG 2.1-Channel 300W Soundbar System with 6" Subwoofer - Black, Model # SL4Y means that you have twp speakers in the main bar, a left and right speaker and the [1] is for the active wireless Subwoofer that connects wirelessly to the main unit. The Soundbar has its own amplification to drive the speakers and the Subwoofer...^IFV
