“I noticed this unit has an HDMI in and an HDMI out. Can you run your Xbox One connection 'in' to the soundbar and 'out' to the TV? Anyone have any experience doing this? Would this introduce any lag to the TV picture that would effect online gaming?”

Yes, you can run your Xbox through it, but the SL5Y Sound Bar will not pass 4K Ultra HD through to the TV. It still looks and sounds great. I pass my Xbox to the Sound bar HDMI in and then the HDMI ARC out to the TV's HDMI ARC in port. I do get Surround 5.1 this way as well.
