Yes, there is a significant amount of insulation behind the kick plate (black metal bar on the bottom). Our unit is very quiet (excluding the drain sounds from the air gap in our sink).

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Our dishwasher came with the insulation sheet you mention. It arrived rolled and wrapped, and was secured inside the body of the dishwasher on the lowest rack. The installers put the insulation sheet in place while they were also adding the plumbing hoses (this occurred just off the truck, outside, with the dishwasher on its back). The installers explained this technique was the easiest way to put the sheet in place. With that being said, even though all the reviews rave about how quiet this dishwasher is, ours is not. I guess Bosch spoiled us.
