• Yes.you can turn off both have separate on and off. ice in door is smaller.use the freezer ice more.

• Yes! The ice maker in the freezer never need be turned on if you don't need it. There is a removable bin that you can take out when you are not using the freezer ice maker. But if you decide to use it, it is just a push of a button on the fridges control panel or your smart phone.
