Pull down the handle to open the ice compartment. 3. Look for the power switch on the ice maker labeled "ON" and "OFF." 4. Switch the ice maker to the "ON" position. 5. Close the ice compartment by pulling the handle up until it is securely closed. Keep in mind that it may take 12 to 24 hours for the ice maker to start producing ice.
