WebOS is simply the name LG gives to the operating system they use on their TVs. Samsung uses one they call Tizen. Roku TVs naturally run the Roku OS. There are some TVs that use an OS called Android TV. Virtually all of them are based on the Linux kernel, but with enough changes that they aren't really considered Linux any longer. For example, you can't simply run a Linux app on one of these operating systems.
