• At least on pc right click the apeaker icon bottom right, select play back devices and then make sure default audio device set as the lg monitor

• I had to use 3 different HDMI cables before i had the audio work. The monitor only likes certain ones and it took me three times. I also had read, but I don't know if it is true or not, that the monitor does not like HDMI cables with Ethernet? I would try several to see.

• You would need speakers connected to the audio out. The audio control on the monitor is for audio controls for devices like game systems, Blu-ray players.
