“could i use this with on my laundry area does not have any hot water inlet and it would be a very pricey job to get it there due to the age of the home. Could i just either block the hot water cap or use a splitter and give only cold in?”

Unfortunately it is not possible. The machine will just show you an error message asking for the inlet hose and water.^Venette
