No you don’t have to have it connected to the Internet. Just skip that part of the set up.

Please try again later.The LG 43 inch Class 1080p Smart FHD TV (42.5'' Diag), Model # 43LM5700PUA has to be connected to the internet if you plan on streaming from the built-in apps in the TV and to receive firmware updates. It does not have to be connected to the internet for you to receive programming from an antenna for OTA (Over-the-Air) programming or to receive programming from your cable's set-top box. The TV runs on LG's webOS TV Platform and that cannot be turned off...^IFV
