“Apparently, the only Audio Out is Optical Digital? I have a DVD player with 5.1 sound that needs left and right RCA jacks IN from a TV that has left and right RCA jacks OUT. Any suggestions? Thanks.”

You have two options: Optical and HDMI ARC for audio out from the TV, which you'll use when using the smart tv apps/services. Why do you want sound IN to your dvd player? Is it part of a soundbar/home theater package? Seems odd to me; the audio out from the tv should go to something that powers speakers such as a soundbar, receiver, etc. Also, most dvd players have optical, so I'm surprised yours does not. However, a work around would be an Optical to RCA cable. You can find them online and Best Buy may even sell them. I hope this helps you.
