If you put the screws in they legs will not unlock. Yes it does seem very wobbly, but if your not shaking it the TV is just fine just don't tip it on the legs which might break em. After getting the tv in place I have not noticed even a sway and there can be a lot of traffic around it at times. I have a few TV's with legs of that style and the all seem wobbly but that's just the style of legs and a larger top heavy tv
