“When I start any burner (putting to ignition/lite) ALL OTHER four burners start making noises and show sparks. Is that normal with this model? My other Kenmore range did not do that.”

It seems that the electric igniters are activated by any stovetop switch or burner instead of each one individually. The spark you are referring to is the igniters looking for gas. Once I figured that out I don’t think much about it.
