Both are regular ovens with the option to use the convection on the bottom only.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I actually haven't hooked up the range yet. But I do know that only the bottom oven is convection and the top oven is not. And yes, there is an option for just conventional bake in lower oven. Unlike my 8 year old kitchen aid double oven (dual fuel), the lower oven on the LG is about 14 " high. It would probably fit a pretty good size turkey...but my kitchen aid oven was higher by about 2" in the bottom. If you go to the LG website, they are pretty good about answering questions about each model if you key in the model number. There is stuff on different internet sites that the two ovens won't operate simultaneously. This is NOT TRUE! (It would have been a showstopper for me. I am glad I asked the question directly to the LG folks).
