What does it mean that this range requires a "hub"? null

I believe the Hub refers to using the smart features with Alexa or Google Assistant. You do not need to use any smart features to use this oven. I haven’t used any smart features and do not anticipate doing so. I don’t live in an enormous house and won’t carry my phone around with me to notify me of oven temperatures, etc. If you want to use the smart features, then you may need to have one of these other devices.
