I can't speak for the Cox remote, but I am able to use a Spectrum remote to control the TV, so I would venture to say it should work.

We understand your inquiry about using your Cox Cable remote. Your Cox Cable remote, which is typically a universal remote, should be fully compatible with your LG OLED TV for essential functions like power and volume control. These universal remotes are designed to be programmed with a code to operate almost any major TV brand. To use your Cox remote with your LG OLED65C5PUA, you would follow the programming instructions provided by Cox, usually involving holding down a Setup or Mute + Select button, and then entering the appropriate code for LG televisions. If you have the Cox Contour Voice remote, it generally has a simplified pairing process through the on-screen menu when connected to the cable box. Alternatively, your new OLED65C5PUA comes with the LG Magic Remote, which features a Universal Control setting. This setting allows you to program the LG Magic Remote to control your Cox set-top box, letting you use a single remote for all your main devices. Troubleshooting for Programming Your Cox Remote: Check the Codes: Ensure you are using the correct 3- or 4-digit code for LG from your Cox remote's manual or their website. Use Auto-Search: If the codes do not work, your Cox remote may have an automatic code search function (often by pressing a key repeatedly until the TV turns off) to find the correct signal. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-65-class-c5-series-oled-evo-ai-4k-uhd-smart-webos-tv-2025/JJ8VPZTRG6/sku/6621824 If you encounter any difficulty while setting up either the Cox remote to control the TV or the LG Magic Remote to control the Cox box, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport and our team will be more than happy to explore possible solutions with you.
