• In my experience it only sees one or the other and actually will switch to HDMI each time the TV is turned on no mater which input was used last.

• You can connect a device to the HDMI eARC port and another to the Optical Digital Audio Out at the same time on the LG CX 65 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® (64.5'' Diag), Model # OLED65CXPUA, but you can only choose the audio to be transmitted through the HDMI eARC or through the Optical Digital Audio Out in the Digital Sound Out settings. You cannot transmit to both at the same time. You can set the digital sound out to Automatic/Pass Though so that when the TV receives audio formats that cannot be handled through the Optical Digital Audio Out will be transmitted through the HDMI eARC which can handle higher audio formats...^IFV
