Yes it is! You can also convert them to HDMI which would allow the tv to... Improve the image quality. Though with that being said you would need a high end stand alone upscaler to really make it look nice. Personally.. id get them copied to a PC and run ai image/video cleaning and upscaling software on them. I did that with a VHS recorded in 1986n(shocked it wasn't too degraded) but now it looks really good... Like better than DVD quality good and it was originally recorded on a VHS Camcorder made in (I think) 1985. The tapes say in a very hot and behind actic but if I had a clip I could show I guarantee you would think it was recorded at a resolution between 480p and 1080p with professional recording equipment. Some of it looks so good that it's essentially native 1440p60Mbs CBR video & VBR stereo audio at about 192kbps. Unfortunately the video was much easier to recover and make high quality.
