I would say about 6' (I have not measured it). As for extension cords it is a simple two prong plug and does not draw a lot of watts so any extension cord should be fine. Although as pricey as the TV is I would buy a surge protector for it anyway that has a guaranteed protection and replacement coverage. You can get them for under $30 just about anywhere.
