You will still need to purchase a separate center speaker but I knew that going in . I have a surround system with Polk speakers and Yamaha receivers. That being said, the CX has fantastic sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It cannot, you could rig something to make it work if you had an older reciever with 6 channel preouts, but you wouldn't want to. Surround sound is designed and works best with voice matching, the center speaker being the most important. You always want all of your speakers to have a very similar sound, so when something is panning across the sound stage it sounds the same on its path. The center speak produces dialouge and needs to be crystal clear. The subwoofer is the only speaker that does not matter as much on voice matching as much as its crossover, since it only produces sounds if the crossover is set correct that nothing else is producing at low frequency, so it doesnt have to match anything else in the setup. Audio in my opinion is almost as important as a quality television, if you are going to experience OLED get the best audio possible.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ideally, you want the center speaker to be sonically balanced with your surround sound speakers, but you can use the internal speakers for the LG CX 65 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® (64.5'' Diag), Model # OLED65CXPUA simultaneously with an external receiver, Home Theater System or Soundbar connected via the TV's Optical Digital Audio Output. Most surround-sound enthusiasts agree it is not necessary to have the same speaker type or even brand when setting up your system, so you can feel comfortable using different speakers in the channel array. It really comes down to sound quality. If it sounds good to you, then you will be happy with it...^IFV
