“If I want to enable surround sound do I need to get a sound bar and a set of rear speakers, or is the sound bar optional give the sound coming from the TV speakers? Will any set of bluetooth speakers work, or is there a recommended matched pair?”

I believe that you can connect wireless speakers to the TV but the speakers need to be WISA.
