I wear hearing aids too (Phonak) and struggle connecting them to high definition TVs and home theaters. I suspect the audio-in port on your HA device accommodates a 1/8" stereo mini-plug audio input. My experience using this HA device audio-in port requires a 1/8" audio-out port on the TV. TV audio-out ports can also be labeled headphone outputs. Sometimes a TV may have Left & Right audio-out RCA jacks that you can use with a "Y" RCA L/R stereo plugs - - to mini 1/8 male adapter. Usually you can make either method work just keep in mind that if you are watching video with multi-channel audio programming (ie. movies or broadcast TV with 5.1 surround sound) you will be connected only to the Left and Right channel audio. You will miss the center and L/R rear channel information. Hearing aids by definition are stereo devices. Connecting them to any multi-channel audio source is problematic. To avoid this problem, I connect using stereo only.
