No, the warranty does not specifically cover burn-in. The TV carries a 1 year Manufacturer’s Limited Warranty on parts and labor. When applicable, there are policies and procedures in place to ensure resolutions are offered that are consistent and fair with respects to issues with burn-in. OLED TVs have special features and settings to preserve image quality and prevent burn in and image retention. First, under OLED Screen Saver there is the Pixel Refresher that calibrates any issues that may arise on the screen when your TV has been turned on for a long time. Calibration takes more than an hour. The second feature that can be employed is the Screen Shift feature which, moves the screen slightly at regular intervals to preserve image quality. A third option is the Logo Luminance Adjustment, which can detect static logos on the screen and reduce brightness to help decrease permanent image retention. ^Daphane
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My 55 inch LG OLED has burn in. It is 4 years old. I bought a 5 year warranty and will be getting compensated for it. i dont think I will buy another OLED. Most of my burn in happened from channel symbols displayed at the bottom of the screen. I have TLC, Fox News, NBC, etc burned into my screen. I also have the scroll bar from Fox News on my tv permanently.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To the best of my knowledge, the manufacturers warranty will not cover burn in. However, LG has gone to great lengths with built in software and features to minimize the possibility of burn-in. I’ve had my OLED TV for over two years now and burn-in has not been an issue. But, if this possibility really concerns you, I would recommend that you simply purchase the extended warranty. In my opinion, OLED provides the best picture quality on the market and the very low risk of burn-in should not keep anybody from selecting an OLED TV.
