• The distance from the top and bottom of the tv to the top mounting holes are 22.992" and 8.189"/9.409" (set max), respectively. ^Daphane

• The G1 comes with a mount. The mount is designed for this TV and i highly recommend using it for the best flush mount possible. I also highly recommend having Best Buy deliver and install. While I didn't have an answer to the question on distance I hope this helps. But a quick Google search should yield those results. By the way this TV is awesome.
