Burn-in and image retention are possible on virtually any display. However, with the LG 77" Class G4 Series OLED evo 4K UHD Smart webOS TV with One Wall Design (2024), or any other LG OLED TV, any risk of burn-in or image retention has been addressed through the use of technology that not only helps protect against damage to the screen, but features self-healing properties so that any short-term image retention that may occur is quickly rectified. It is rare for an average TV consumer to create an environment that could result in burn-in. Burn-in is the result of uneven pixel wear across the screen due to static images or on-screen elements displaying uninterrupted for many hours or days at a time with brightness typically at peak levels. So, it is possible to create image retention in almost any display if one really tries hard enough. And even if image retention does occur from extreme usage, it can usually be mitigated within a short period by turning the display off for a while, and watching a few hours of varying content (such as your standard TV watching and channel-surfing). Additionally, LG OLED TVs come with special features and settings to preserve image quality and prevent burn-in and image retention. First, in the OLED Panel Care settings for the TV there is a Pixel Cleaning function that calibrates potential screen issues when the device is on for an extended period. Calibration takes a minimum of 10 minutes to a maximum of an hour and a half. The second feature that can be employed is the Screen Move feature which moves the screen slightly at regular intervals to prevent image sticking on the display panel. A third option is the Adjust Logo Brightness feature which adjusts the luminance of static images such as logos within content to correct potential picture quality issues. The TV also comes with a One (1) Year warranty for Parts and Labor from the date of original purchase (internal and functional parts only, including the OLED Display Panel), and a Five (5) warranty for the OLED Display Panel from the date of original purchase for Labor only from years 2-5 (You will be charged for labor).
