Regrettably, I am not sure of its compatibility with the new the Mac M1 chip. The drive does not come with a software installation disc for macOS devices. It should be automatically recognized by the operating system. You can check with Apple to see if the drive is listed as being compatible with the Mac M1 chip. ^Daphane
