QuestionWe need to replace a built in microwave that is above the oven. Can this microwave be placed in a cabinet? If so does the trim have vents?

- Answer Sorta, maybe. It has vents on the front of the left side. If you had a large enough cavity it could work. Probably 2 inches on each side.

QuestionIf the trim kit for this is stainless steel, can the sides be cut down to as to cover a 27" cabinet instead of 30"?

- Answer You won't be able to cut the trim down to fit a 27", there's a lot of support under the stainless, and I don't think there'd be a good way to cut it and have it still look clean. With proper ventilation though, you could install the microwave in the cabinet without the trim.

- Answer The main part of your microwave oven that makes it possible to heat food is bad. unless your oven is under warranty it is cheaper to buy a new microwave then to fix your old one.

- Answer The light used to illuminate the interior of the microwave is provided by an LED Lamp Holder Assembly, LG Part No. AEJ74859403. The cost for the part and shipping is in the order of about $30. The part is quite easy to replace once one has removed the microwave’s cover, a task requiring a torx bit able to remove tamper proof screws. Remove the screws, slide back and remove the cover, and the part is immediately exposed and easily removed for replacement. The part is shown in the attached photos, one side showing the part number, and the other the two LEDs that illuminate the microwave’s interior.

QuestionDo I need a charcoal filter to install this with a trim kit?

- Answer I personally do not any see need for any type filter with the usage of this type of Microwave. This Microwave is considered to be a "Counter-top' unit that we install inside of a cabinet enclosure with manufacture recommended space surrounding the unit on all 8 sides of the unit. The Trim kits provides the unit the "Built-in" appearance with proper spacing and the ability to be stationary with in surrounding enclosure.

QuestionWhat is the exact height of the door? (In other words, what height opening do I need in a trim-kit for a built-in installation? I'm trying to find a microwave that would fit an existing trim kit.)

- Answer Just bought one of these. There are no provisions for mounting features on the sides of this unit. It is meant to sit on a countertop or shelf.

Questionwe had a power outage for a couple of minutes recently. I tried to reset the clock, it lets me reset it but it keeps going from 12h setting back to 24h setting. it will not stay on 12h setting. I've reset it several times now.

- Answer Have you tried unplugging the microwave? Doing so, and then waiting for a few seconds before plugging it in again, might reset the microwave's entire system to normal after the abrupt outage of power. Good luck!
