“If the trim kit for this is stainless steel, can the sides be cut down to as to cover a 27" cabinet instead of 30"?”

You won't be able to cut the trim down to fit a 27", there's a lot of support under the stainless, and I don't think there'd be a good way to cut it and have it still look clean. With proper ventilation though, you could install the microwave in the cabinet without the trim.

Hi JB. There is an Installation Guide for the LG Trim Kit for Countertop Microwave Oven in Stainless Steel, Model # MK2030NST available and we highly recommend that you review it for instructions on using it with 27" models. Regrettably, there aren't any instructions available for cutting the sides so we cannot advise you on that...^IFV
