  • QuestionWill this play DVD-R as well as Commercial DVDs

    Asked by Al.

    • Answer The LG Blu-Ray Disc™ Player with Streaming Services and Built-in Wi-Fi®, Model # BP350 will also play DVDs, so there is no need to replace your old DVD collection. Not only that, DVD Up-Scaling delivers exceptional image quality with 1080p up scaling via HDMI. It will also play BD-ROM, BD-R, BD-RE, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, Audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and DTS-CD discs. The difference between Commercial and Home-Recorded DVDs is that DVD movies bought from the store have different characteristics than those you burn or make at home on a PC or DVD recorder. Home DVDs are "burned," but commercial DVDs are "stamped." The recordable DVD formats available to consumers are similar to but not the same as the formats used for the movies. That format, the kind you can buy at the store, is referred to as DVD-Video. The main difference lies in the way the DVDs are made. All DVDs (both homemade and commercial) utilize "pits" and "bumps," which are physical peaks and troughs on the discs meant for storing digital video and audio information. But there is a difference in the way pits and bumps are created on commercial DVDs compared with the way they are made on home-recorded DVDs...^IFV

  • Questioncan I hook this DVD player to a computer monitor

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Because AACS (Advanced Access Content System) is approved as content protection system for Blu-ray Disc format, similar to use of CSS (Content Scramble System) for DVD format, certain restrictions are imposed on playback, analog signal output, etc., of AACS protected contents. The operation of the LG Blu-Ray Disc™ Player with Streaming Services and Built-in Wi-Fi®, Model # BP350 and restrictions on this product may vary depending on your time of purchase as those restrictions may be adopted and/or changed by AACS after the production of this product. Furthermore, BD-ROM Mark and BD+ are additionally used as content protection systems for Blu-ray Disc format, which imposes certain restrictions including playback restrictions for BD-ROM Mark and/or BD+ protected contents. Many BD-ROM/DVD discs are encoded with copy protection. Because of this, you should only connect your player directly to your TV. The pixels on a PC monitor aren't the same shape (monitors use square pixels). HDCP could be problem with Blu-ray DVD movies (unless you rip them first)...^IFV
