If your Surface has a usb port probably yes. But, If you need a CD to install a printer, you should look at replacing the printer. Any up to date printer would have drivers available for download online, no disc needed.

This comes with its own power source and does not rely on the surface pro for power. Meaning the drive will be steady and not falling off line. Then simply plug in the USB that comes in the DVD/CD box to the Surface Pro's only usb port and you are in business. Again,This is a great product. Make sure you have the CD that comes with its own power source as many are on the shelf that don't. The model I got from Best Buy is the LG 24x External DVD Writer with silent play GE24

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought this specially for my Surface 3 and it works perfectly. The USB ports on the surface will not fully power this drive so you need a drive that uses external power like this unit. It's also very fast at burning cd's.
