It works with 4K tv's and it can go off sound but not the colors, for that you need lights with a hdmi cable, i think the phillips has that but lifx doesn't yet. Full disclosure I haven't used the sound feature myself but I have seen it being used on youtube but even then it was clunky so not really my thing.
