• There is no mention of this in the user guide, and most documents from Linksys suggest letting the Router manage the bands to maximize thruput to each device. I would also worry that if you use a mesh, than splitting it could interfere with the mesh switching (when a device moves from the range of one mesh router to the next. • Yes, it gives you the option to do so manually thru the router UI.

• Yes, farazk. You can customize the settings and separate both bands. However, it is not recommended as it will defeat the Mesh capability of the unit.
