QuestionNeed my Velop+hardwired internet connections w/the WIFI system off. Charter-provided modem only has 1 ethernet port. Have an ethernet switch, but it seems that the Velop base station needs to be 1st inline. do I need a new modem w/mutiple ethernet ports?

- Answer The Velop mesh system does require that the Node nearest the modem be considered Node 1, this node will connect to the modem via the ethernet port. I chose a rather inexpensive modem from BestBuy with dual ethernet ports to connect to Node 1. Have not had any issues since connecting everything.

QuestionCan these Linksys Velop be added to existing older Linksys routers? The one I have works great, it just doesn’t reach to the far end of the house, but it would feel like a waist to totally replace it.

- Answer I have several connected: 2 iPhones, an iPad, an iMac desktop, and a Ring Pro Video Doorbell with chimes and an Echo 5 display unit. I haven't even begun to stress this Linksys Velop. (Over the Holidays I had family visiting that added 3 more iPhones and a laptop to my network; still good.)

- Answer Just purchase a separate POE switch. It will give you more ports as the velop only has 2. Cisco uPOE

QuestionMy internet provider connection is an Ethernet port in my wall not a cable. How would I connect/setup a mesh network? I currently have a Linksys wireless router plugged in but our wifi signal is nowhere near what we are subscribed to.

- Answer Hello, sakaakir. You can just connect one node of the Linksys WHW0302 directly to the wall patch using an Ethernet cable and use a handheld device upon setting it up to your network.

- Answer The primary node uses an either net cable to get internet. The other 2 nodes are wireless except for power cord

QuestionOne of the specs here on the bestbuy page says it has two WAN ports. Is that true? We have dual WAN at our house (AT&T + CHARTER) to make sure we never go down. I'm looking for a solution that will use dual WAN - does this system allow for that?

QuestionHello. We were forced to return an Orbi System because the Geek Squad could get Game Chat to work with the PS4. It works easily with our Netgear Rangemax and a Nighthawk X4S. Will it work with this with no modifications? If so, I will buy it today.

QuestionMy house is pre-wired with ethernet. How can I attach the first Velop to my router and to the ethernet that in the wall that reaches downstairs? Do I need a switch for this? I also need to attach my Philips Hue bridge and Sonos bridge.

- Answer Plug one end of an Ethernet cable into modem first, then plug the other end into velop. Plug another Ethernet cable into velop and the other end into port on wall. Downstairs plug an Ethernet cable into port on wall and the other end into 2nd velop node. Then, plug another Ethernet into velop and other end into a switch.

- Answer I use Fios and so far, so good. I disabled the wifi on the existing Actiontec router and plugged the first node into that via Ethernet. No issues.

QuestionSo is my second node completely wellness? I just plug it in to power and it broadcasts the signal from the connected one? Can I use it in my basement then take it outside or even possibly my neighbors?

- Answer The nodes work together and need to be somewhat near each other. The app is required for setup and it checks to make sure the nodes are placed properly. If you took it outside or next door it might not be able to communicate with the other nodes.

- Answer As long as the Velop system works with channels available Jamaica and you can download and use the Linksys WiFi app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, sure. Jamaica uses the FCC plan with 2.4 and 5 GHz devices if I remember correctly.

Questioni have a Comcast modem with built in router but the modem is upstairs and my office is downstairs .if i get the Velop tri system will i need to get comcast to turn off the wi-fi in the modem for the velop system to have better coverage?

- Answer Yes, bogey. If you set up the Linksys Velop in your network, you will need to turn off the router capability of your modem router.
