You can wire stuff to the ones that are not currently wired. Unless needed there would not be much of a benefit as it is still going wireless back to the main router before going to the modem.

My Verizon FIOS signal entry point is at one far corner of my house, In order to bring the strong signals to the center of the first floor for my house, I used coax cable wired connection to the master node (I have a three node Velop AC6600 system) through two MOCA adapters. Then the other two Velop nodes are used as additional access points for Wifi and I distribute them in the second floor. The system has been working very well for about a month with strong signals all over my house.
