“Can this replace the Verizon Fios G3100 router so don’t have to lease that anymore. I assume one system can go in the basement. We have poor speed on the Roku in the basement. Please advise.”

Yes, you can substitute it for an existing router. For Verizon particularly, the Fios has a cable modem and would get you either ethernet or MOCA internet signal. If it is ethernet, then you can use your Velop router directly. For MOCA, get a MOCA adapter to convert the MOCA signal to ethernet and then connect to the Velop router.
