No, JoelWay. Only the 1st node (parent) needs to be wired to the modem. The succeeding nodes can be added via wireless or wired connection.

No. One connects to modem with ethernet cable and the other wirelessly communicates to the router connected to the modem. It's like you have two tri-band routers spread out in your house that covers a total of 4000sqft. Its performance is amazing!

No only 1. The other one will connect to the main one wirelessly.

No. Just 1 connects to modem. Use the Ethernet cord that comes with the system. All other nodes connect wirelessly. All nodes just need power outlet.
