• Meshing is a bad term. Your older pieces will be fine. Mine are.

• You have 2.4ghz and 5ghz they just have the same SSID. I have many 2.4ghz smart home devices all which work fine.

• The mesh systems that combine the network into a single SSID handle both frequencies. So your 2.4GHz devices will connect just like any other device using 5G. I have several IP Cans that are 2.4 and recently upgraded to Velop Mesh using single SSID and I have had no issues. Just make sure the SSID and Passwd on the mesh network are the same as the devices you are connecting them to. Or you will need to get into each device and change their settings.
