I have both systems. I think the Velop system is better overall and offers faster speeds. The setup with the Orbi is easier but still not exactly easy. The Orbi has 4 Ethernet ports on each module and USB ports. The Linksys only has two ports on each node and no USB. The Linksys has a smaller footprint and is a little nicer looking in my opinion.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have tested both, i like the Velop system better. It is far easier to install and seems to work more seamlessly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought the Velop. 3 nodes. Spent 5 hours with their dedicated support on the phone trying to get the wireless and wired speed better at the third node. After much agonizing I returned it and bought Orbi 1 router and 2 satellites. Easy to set up. Second satellite (upstairs) works better than Velop 3rd node. But not that much better for the extra money I spent. The Orbi also gives me messages that one of the satellites is too far away with its magenta light. I like the Velop app for configuration better since it has more options. I like the Orbi for ease of setup, better performance and more ports. My advice is buy them both and test them side by side to see which works better in your house and then return the other one within Best Buy’s return window.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Personally, having used both the Velop and Orbi, I'd choose the Orbi. In my house, at least, the Orbi gave better coverage and better speeds, and didn't gag when you had four users streaming Netflix...the Velop, sadly, couldn't handle two users streaming Netflix at the same time. Effort to set up and configure was about the same for both systems, but Orbi doesn't require the use of a smartphone app or dodgy 'cloud' service for configuration.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I Like the Oribi better. It give you more flexibility. It allows you to set it up in access point mode in the event your provider has a combined modem/router. The Orbi has a usb port and more wan ports.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I returned the eero, and bought the velop. For the price of $500 I believe the velop does everything I want it to do. The orbi is $650 for 3 nodes, and I needed 3.
