“I'm planning to switch to fiber...Someone said if i do, i won't need a router, that my Velop can connect directly. Anybody else confirm this?”

• I use Frontier Communications service (Fiber Optic). There is a device (modem) outside the house, which converts the signal. I have the Linksys VELOP system connected directly to that device using Ethernet cable (Cat 6). The VELOP system is my router (WiFi). There is no need for a cable company router. Works great!

• The 3 package velop do not need a router. I hope you know what is a router and what is a modem, because you still will need a modem, unless fiber does not need it.

• Hi. The Linksys Velop system works with Fiber internet but, it still requires a direct connection from the modem or modem/router.
