The Logitech C615 is connected with a USB cable. The webcam is two devices, a camera and a microphone. When you start a program that uses a camera the program detects the camera automatically. At first the microphone was not working. I had to go to Settings / Sound / Input to select the webcam for sound input. The webcam is not detected by all Mac programs. So far I have used it for FaceTime, Skype, and answering phone calls. It does not work with Image Capture. You do need speakers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This camera has a USB output which you can use to connect to the USB input on your computer. It will include either a disk with the necessary device drivers for you to install on your computer, or else directions for downloading and installing the drivers from a freely available source online. The device has a built-in microphone, but you will need either speakers or headphones to be able to hear the audio when using this camera. If you are using a Mac, your computer likely already has speakers built-in. You can use the webcam by way of a number of third-party applications, such as Skype or Google Hangouts. Your Mac likely also has some native applications that can be used with the webcam, such as video production software. These applications will ask for permission to access the webcam when opened.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a USB device and the software downloads from Logitech. I'm on Windows, but I am sure the Mac software is there also. Enjoy!
