Is it true the software is only a 6 month trial? null

No, this unit comes with the full version software and additionally it also includes 3-month premium XSplit license.

There is some sort of special software that allows you to do fancy things which i didnt really look into since i have no need for it (hence this slightly vague response lol) that one is the trial. Otherwise the software that gives you the basic control of your cam is free.
