“Can you answer calls directly from the headset? I can't seem to do that and it just kind of defeats the purpose of being able to be away from desk and still answering phone calls.”

• This depends on the phone you are trying to connect to. Since this headset does not have Bluetooth capabilities, unlikely. It only functions with the paired USB Nano Receiver it comes with. If you want bluetooth with the headset, get the H800 Model

• I was only able to use this headset with my laptop. I have a Plantronics wireless telephone headset at work. The base plugs into my phone directly, but the headset is wireless.
