It is quieter than the butterfly keyboard. It has a click that is more tactile than audible.

I don't find it any more difficult than square keys. I tend to hit the square keys right in the center anyway.

Hello, the keyboard is fairly quiet as it uses low profile scissor keys and not mechanical ones.

Sorry, I never used the keyboard and am returning it. It was too difficult to hook up to my Blue tooth thing-y and I really don't need another keyboard. 
It's tiny, bc is has no number pad. Seems as if it would be okay. I don't know how quiet the MacBook one is. Sorry I can't help with the sound.
