• It will work on your Mac. Mouse USB receivers work with any USB.

• Basically the package has 2 pieces, one is the mouse and one is a USB piece. The USB piece is a small square piece to stick into a USB port into a laptop or a PC hard drive. The mouse will not work if the USB piece is not connected to a USB port (via an external device like a laptop or PC hard drive).
