• It does not need to be in "line of sight". I tested from beneath the table and it works 100%. Also took it out to a distance of ~15 feet and it worked flawlessly.

• Line of sight is not required. Is a proprietary wireless protocol.

• It plugs into any USB port. And, no, it does not have to be in line of sight.
