KathyC, the mouse can be used on the bed surface though you might be trading off some precision.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have used my mouse on hotel room sheets (no desk) and on my (velour fabric) recliner at home no problem, and other surfaces that created problems for my last mouse (clear glass, etc..). I haven't found a normal surface where mine hasn't worked yet.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Works fairly well when doing so myself. May have some slight connectivity/navigational issues depending on cloth material type and condition of rinkles on surface of bed =)

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just submitted a review and covered this in the review. I have used it on bed sheets (the flatter the surface the more precise the action) I found using a magazine on the bedside quite usable), the flat surface of my PC to the side of the touch pad, my thigh, chair arms & seats, dashboards, car seats, magazines in my lap, mirrors, glass, even the palm of my hand (not with precision, but still). You can even use it with considerable precision to give someone a back massage. ( :
