There is very little difference between the default mic and Blue Icepop mic. The issue with the mic I suspect is that the mic codec Logitech is using on the headset has too limited bandwidth.

Yes it is compatible! I bought the Icepop as soon as I bought this headset and it's a simple plug and play. It sits very flush with the connection mold. I can't say that it's a big upgrade over the stock mic, it does sound a bit warmer and clearer, but it still gives off AM radio vibes. It would still be recommended to mess with Logitech G Hub to make it sound even better. I've never had an issue with coms and my friends always tell me I sound clear to them.
