They definitely require a separate power source. They are not powered by USB or batteries.

No, it is not wireless, you do need a power source, but it is worth having if you do not mind the wires. The subwoofer makes up for it. I use it for My MP3 player, Laptop, DVD and Videos Games.

YES THEY NEED TO BE PLUG IN TO THE WALL 110VOLTS .... NO USB POWER

Yes, they plug into an electrical outlet. A laptop outside without power won't work.
